An ex-cop on the edge after a shooting gone bad agrees to help a young girl find her missing sister amidst the cut-throat world of horse-buying and selling.
An interesting setting, intriguing plot, and excellent characters make this a very entertaining read. I know nothing about horses, and the industry that revolves around them, so I wasn't sure about this one to start with. Maybe that's why it sat on my shelf for so long unread. A tip from a member of my reader's group motivated me to give it a go, and I'm glad I did. I love this writer's no-nonsense style. I found myself laughing out loud in places. This was quite a long book, but I enjoyed every minute of it. Another author to add to my ever-growing list!
